In just one and a half acres we are able to support 38,000
plants. Take into consideration that if you were to plant all of that into
the ground, it would take over 20 acres! Another point in our favor is the
use of water. We have seen drought and what it can do to our planet. In
conventional farming it would take 50,000 gallons of water a day to keep the
plants thriving. With our hydroponic system, it takes only 2,200 gallons.
That is just 4.5% of the water used on dirt farms! In short, we are the most
earth-friendly farm in Alabama! When you come to visit the farm, you will see
a wide variety of produce. By far, our strawberries are the sweetest,
juiciest fruits you can imagine. The crispness and flavor on our varieties
of leaf lettuce cannot be found on your typical grocery shelf. And by the
time July gets here, you will see many vegetables just ready for the
picking. Just to name a few of the wonderful things that will be available
for harvest: tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, green beans, purple hull
peas, corn, okra, turnip greens, baby corn, sugar snap peas, butter beans,
green, red, and yellow bell peppers, many different lettuces, arugula,
butternut squash, pumpkins, wild flowers, sun flowers, blueberries,
watermelon, honey dew melon, and cantaloupe. To finish off those wonderful
dishes you will create, we also have a variety of herbs ready to harvest!
We offer a wide variety of home hydroponic gardens. Each
system can be custom tailored to your backyard's size and shape. You can
enjoy the hydroponic growth of fresh herbs, fruits, vegetables and flowers.
